Classroom Use
|
I loved
this book! I would use it to let kids know that reading can be hard and no
everyone reads on the same level. I would use it to also teach about disabilities
and challenges that some kids may face.

Book Summary
|
A little girl is going to learn how to read. When she was
in the first grade, she could not read. She felt dumb. Her grandparents
passed away and school seemed harder. Numbers were hard for her to read as
well as words. Her mother gets a teaching job in California and the little
girl was happy that she was moving because she thought the new kids would not
think she was dumb. When they got there the kids made fun of her. She went
into the fifth grade and had a new teacher. The teacher stopped everyone from
making fun of her. He found out that she did not see letters and numbers like
other kids did. Him along with another teacher taught Trisha how to read.
