Book Summary
Roy was a new kid that just moved to Florida with his mom and dad. He was not happy about the move. He was being bullied by a boy named Dana on the bus. While Dana was picking on Roy one day, Roy had seen a young boy running. The boy had no back pack, no book and no shoes. Roy was very interested in knowing who this boy was and why he is running. He follows the boy one day to try and learn more about him. Roy came across a campsite that had three trash bags. One had regular everyday trash, one had clothes neatly folded, and the other had live poisonous snakes with glittery tails. Roy wondered what the snakes were for. During this time, there was a construction project going on to build a new pancake house. Someone kept on messing with the construction site and stalling the operation. Snakes were put in the fenced in area, gators were put in the portal potties, seats were taken from the equipment and a police car windows were painted black while the officer was inside asleep. The reason these things were being done was because of a rare species of owls living on the site. The running boy was responsible for all of these events. Roy, along with the running boy and several of Roy’s class mates, stopped the construction of the pancake house from happening because some legal documents were missing from the file at the court house. Roy and his friends saved the owls.
